 Dr. Duncan has worked in the field of education for over 20 years and is passionate about teaching and learning. She holds the following degrees and certifications.

· M.Ed. Literacy Studies (UNC-Chapel Hill)

· M.Ed. Leadership, Policy and Advocacy in Early Childhood (UNC-Wilmington)

· Ed.D. Curriculum and Instruction (UNC-Chapel Hill)

EXPERIENCE

  Dr. Duncan began her career as a 5th grade classroom teacher and has served in a variety of roles within the public, private, and non-profit sectors. 

  

She is a member of several professional organizations supporting early childhood development, homeschooling, teaching and learning, and research. Each year, she attends a number of educational conferences to ensure she is knowledgeable of current practices 

in the field.

  

Dr. Duncan has taught and developed a wide range of courses, presented at workshops and conferences, and published in newsletters, professional journals, and edited collections in addition to serving as a board member on local, state, and international organizations. She has a passion for teaching and learning and would welcome the opportunity to expand her circle of influence to reach others needing support.

AUTHOR

 When she's not teaching, leading her homeschool or working with clients, she enjoys reading, spending time with family, traveling and learning about new places. 


Dr. Duncan has authored a variety of articles and book chapters on student centered learning and differentiation. Additionally, she has written two children's picture books, My Dirty Cat Mutt and Myrtle the Blue Eyed Turtle.
